The importance of being available really means to be OPEN. Because I’m often just a conduit for ideas which present themselves to me, I wanted to dedicate a painting to that premise. To see what sort of imagery would evolve regarding the very important concept “open mindedness”. This painting took nearly 3 years to complete from sketch to last stroke. Sometimes months in between with no work whatsoever. It’s important for my process to let things happen on their own time. It can be viewed loosely as a self portrait, but I think more importantly it documents how I see the mind of someone creative working.
