In Camille Rose Garcia's exhibition Obsidian Butterfly, each painting is intended to act as a spell of transmutation. Using daring color and adept brush work, Garcia has crafted pieces meant to transform sorrow into joy. The ocean is benevolently personified in the paintings while various embodiments of the obsidian butterfly take form in water and on land. As manifestations of the Divine Feminine, these healers become witches or shamans symbolizing powerful agents of change. Here Camille discusses the exhibition.
